Maricopa County IDA Receives National Award

Maricopa County IDA was given the 2016 CDFA Distinguished Development Finance Local Agency Award from the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA).  The CDFA is a national association dedicated to the advancement of development finance concerns and interests. The CDFA Local Agency Award recognizes the agency that excels in economic development using its available finance tools.

Over the past year, the Maricopa County IDA has approved over one billion dollars in bonds for charter schools, affordable housing and non-profits.  It has provided millions of dollars in down payment assistant to home buyers.

Over the past forty years the IDA has issued billions in bonds, invested millions of dollars in the community, given access to affordable housing, and helped create thousands of jobs.

“Maricopa County IDA understands the economic benefit a community has when it has access to tax-exempt financing. They have provided that benefit and have been a leader in helping manufacturing, infrastructure, non-profit, and housing projects access lowcost financing,” said Toby Rittner, President & CEO of CDFA.

A special thanks to our board members who volunteer their time and expertise to the IDA. It could not happen without them and this award is dedicated to them.
